In an article for the Business Day section of the Sydney Morning Herald, Nassim Khadem and Ruth Liew talk about the cancellation of 440 SMSF auditors’ registration owing to their failure to meet standards of competency.
Disqualification of SMSF auditors
Apart from this, Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has also disqualified a couple of auditors. Of the 440 auditors who fell on the wrong side of the ASIC wrath, 373 did not attempt to take the examination in the first place, while 67 appeared but failed to clear the exam.
